Our commercial construction projects have included office buildings, warehouses, car dealerships and commercial retail units (CRU’s). We construct to suit the requirements of our clients and the marketplace. These projects are typically non-combustible construction with a structural steel skeleton.

Construction of a new Dollarama located in Morinville, Alberta is underway. Canbian is right on schedule with the completion of this 12,095 square foot project expected to wrap-up by Spring 2025.
This project consists of a new 4,983 square foot Commercial Retail Unit/Tim Hortons base building in the Glenridding area of Edmonton.
This mixed-use building features four floors and includes 30 units with a daycare located in the basement. It’s design is modern and appealing, creating a vibrant street-level atmosphere.

This project consists of demolition of an existing Japanese Village Restaurant and to construct an addition to an existing warehouse building with interior and exterior alterations to accommodate a new grocery store.
The 159-street façade upgrade project includes major renovations to the interior and exterior of an old ESSO gas station site from 50 years ago. Canbian will be turning the site into a commercial plaza becoming home to many businesses such as restaurants and nail salons.
The second of its kind for Jiffy Lube in Edmonton, a six-bay lube shop with the superstructure constructed out of insulated precast panels for the foundation, floor, exterior and roof systems. This allows for the construction schedule to be reduced by months and eliminates any long-term delivery problems encountered by the structural steel scopes during the Pandemic.

Construction of 3 CRU buildings and 1 wand car wash on a 3 Acre site in SW Edmonton. Foundations on all buildings are screw piles and gradebeam c/w a slab on grade. The 3 CRU’s are conventional structural steel framed with steel stud walls and gypsum board.
The Duke Building is a two story infill commercial building on 109 Street and 74 Avenue in Edmonton. The main floor is 6,500 SF and will accomodate four retail bays. The main entrance is constructed as a two story lobby with access to the 6,000 SF second floor office suites.
Canbian Inc, was the successful contractor to be awarded The Heritage Valley Townhouses & Daycare project. Located on 1.72 Acre site in southwest Edmonton, starting with site development fall of 2020. Continuing onto a 2 storey daycare c/w full basement development 10,022 SF.
Canbian Inc. will be completing 3 new buildings on the Royal Centre Keswick site. Building A will be a 16,387 SF, CRU general retail building. Building B will be the shell building for a 4,960 SF daycare. Building C will be the shell building for a 4,100 SF gas station convenience store.
The new End of the Roll building is a one storey Industrial building located on Parsons Road in Edmonton. The building will include a sales area, as well as storage and racking for the flooring products sold. There will be a mezzanine area for the offices.
This project consists of a single storey, 11,532ft2 commercial retail building in Edmonton. Foundations are to consist of helical screw piles and concrete grade beams with a concrete slab on grade. The building’s structure is comprised of a structural steel skeleton with a metal roof deck.
This project consists of the complete construction of 3 commercial buildings in the Ellerslie Industrial area of Edmonton (19,442ft2 total).
Canbian Inc. was the successful contractor to be awarded the Glenridding Commercial project. This project is a two storey commercial building, main floor is 21,317 square feet, second floor is 14,614 square feet.
Canbian Inc. is the construction manager for this project which consists of three new CRU buildings located on the same site. The buildings’ footprints range from 10,225 square feet to 3,892 square feet.
Canbian has been retained as the General Contractor for the Elves Society Building Addition and Renovations. Construction started in August 2018 with the demolition of a portion of the existing building to make way for the new addition.
The quantum project includes major renovations to the interior and exterior of two buildings. The buildings were constructed in 1956 and were destined for demolition to make way for a new commercial project. Covid changed all that and we are certainly glad we didn’t proceed with demolishing the buildings.
The Jasper Place Square building is designed as a 2-story CRU building with a daycare on the second floor with a rooftop outdoor play area. The foundation is a grade bream system resting on end bearing piles. The Structure of the building consist of steel columns, beams, and joists.
Canbian is the construction manager for this 8000 square feet commercial retail project. The building is conventional structural steel with EIFS and metal cladding on steel stud / gypsum board walls.

This project consists of a new hotel and a separate CRU Commercial building on the same site. The hotel is approximately 43,200 sqft in total with 92 suites over four floors as well as an indoor pool.

Canbian has been selected to be the General Contractor for this north Edmonton two storey office / retail development totalling 39,780sqft.
There are two buildings on the site joined together on one lot with a total of 10,000 SF on two levesl plus a 5000 SF basement. The building was constructed in the early 1900s and was the original home of Canadian Furniture.
Selective Demolition to be complete to the existing facade. All Aluminum windows, sidewalks, towers and canopies to be removed. Replacement of the front sidewalk. New facade to include new storefront openings, EIFS buildouts, steel eyebrows and revisions to the existing parapet height.
Canbian signed on to the project at the beginning concept stages and has been involved in both budgetary pricing and design of the new building. The existing 2 storey theatre is being demolished, and a new 2 storey building is being constructed.
Preliminary design and development permit drawings were complete when Canbian became involved in this project. Located on the southeast corner of Beaumont, this is a prime retail development including three new buildings.
Canbian joined the project after preliminary design by the, owner selected, architect. Canbian arranged and coordinated the remaining consultants, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil and landscape to complete the team.
Located at 102 Southfork Drive, Leduc, AB., Canbian was retained to design and construct this 1 storey 13,000 SF CRU building. The main floor has 5 CRU’s and consists of a steel structure supported by concrete grade beams and piles.
Canbian was retained to design and construct two new commercial condominiums buildings. Building A is 17,665 square feet and Building B is 20,600 square feet for a total of 38,265 square feet. There is a total of 24 separate units for sale.
Design Build project for 2 storey CRU/office building. The building is sprinklered. The main floor has 11 CRU’s and the second floor has 7 offices with common area washrooms.

Building addition and renovation. Enlarged the showroom adding new exterior walls, upgrading the entire ventilation system and completing refinishing the showroom. Added two pre-engineered metal building component to the shop area.
